• Beautifully written book

Ok, so I’ve gone off plan from reviewing the Glendale Hall series on account of reading “Somewhere beyond the Sea” by Miranda Dickinson. I knew she was an author I’d love to read after reading “When I Fall in Love” and “Fairytale of New York”. She has a way of creating such feeling and warmth in her characters and relationships and a world that is so easy to relate to, you are instantly drawn in to the world within the book. I’ve not finished “Somewhere beyond the Sea” yet, but am thoroughly enjoying it, it’s deffo worth a read, as are the other books https://www.amazon.co.uk/Somewhere-Beyond-Sea-Miranda-Dickinson/dp/1447276094/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1823TC1Z1NEKQ&keywords=somewhere+beyond+the+sea+miranda&qid=1669983937&sprefix=somewhere+beyond+t%2Caps%2C194&sr=8-1

  • Awesome new book by Ali McNamara

I can’t believe I miss these great books when they are first out, I had previously read “Breakfast at Darcy’s” by Ali and enjoyed it very much, but her newer book ” Hope and Happiness in Bluebell wood” is simply beautiful. I don’t want to give too much away, but if you like romance, nature and a little bit of magic, you will probably like this 🙂 this is the link https://amzn.to/3Gkjwmu

Might make a nice Christmas present for anyone with children aged 2 – 4. A few simple stories about a kind, but slightly adventurous bear, just starting to learn about life.

  • Glendale Hall, book 2

In the second Glendale Hall book, New Beginnings at Glendale Hall, we meet Emily, a family friend and best friend of Beth’s who moves to the village after a break up. As we are discovering, the residents of Glendale are a welcoming and supportive bunch, and Emily soon starts her long dreamed of bakery business. There is a surprise romance in store for her too! A lovely romantic read with friendship, family and community once again at the heart of it.

  • Christmas ebook available

I have just published a Christmas story about family, faith and music. It’s available here, please let me know if you like it!

Here is an excerpt from it:

Esther peered out of the window of the train. Snowflakes stuck to it and melted with the heat of the train instantly. She was snug and cosy but couldn’t wait to get home. In the distance, the lights of her home town blinked at her. She looked more closely, trying to spot the church tower.

“Ah! There it is” she thought, feeling her heart lift.

From outside that church, she would soon be leaving with her choir on a tour of the cathedrals of the South West of England. She was so excited, she loved music and architecture and they planned to do some carol singing in each city, raising money for charity as they went.

As the train doors opened, she gave a little shiver at the icy blast of air. Wrapping up warmly and taking her torch out for extra light, she trudged down the road towards the town.

As she came to the high street, the warmth and light from each of the shop windows radiated Christmas cheer at her. It had been a long day at work and she was glad to see the decorations, each lovingly prepared.

  • Glendale Hall Book one

Victoria Walters creates a wonderful sense of place and character in the first in the series of her books set in Glendale, called “Coming home to Glendale Hall”. Here we meet the main characters of Beth, her daughter Izzy, Beth’s family and her old boyfriend, Drew. The occasion of Beth’s return is a sad one as her grandmother is ill but there is a silver lining as she is reunited with Drew, her childhood sweetheart. As her family comes together again, so too does the community and Beth realises that Glendale is somewhere she wants to stay. Romance, family, healing and a touch of the Christmas spirit, a great book to snuggle down with on a cold winters or autumn day!

  • Glendale Hall series by Victoria Walters

This year I found the Glendale Hall series by Victoria Walters. I bought the books one after the other as I was so keen to find out what happened next. I’ll be popping a review of each one on here in the coming weeks, so you can see what you think of them. Do you have a series of books that you have found really good?

  • Autumn days

    It’s such a beautiful day

Sun rays, not rain clouds are lighting my way

So glad am I, to see the sky

Light blue with fluffy clouds on high

    A strong wind blows

    And whips the leaves

Right off the trees, into a pile

Just waiting for an excited child

To come and play, what a lovely day.

    Colours strong, red, yellow, green

    A vivid, wondrous autumn scene

I love this time, so much to see,

Here’s to the next autumn day, there’ll be.
