Ok, so I’ve gone off plan from reviewing the Glendale Hall series on account of reading “Somewhere beyond the Sea” by Miranda Dickinson. I knew she was an author I’d love to read after reading “When I Fall in Love” and “Fairytale of New York”. She has a way of creating such feeling and warmth in her characters and relationships and a world that is so easy to relate to, you are instantly drawn in to the world within the book. I’ve not finished “Somewhere beyond the Sea” yet, but am thoroughly enjoying it, it’s deffo worth a read, as are the other books https://www.amazon.co.uk/Somewhere-Beyond-Sea-Miranda-Dickinson/dp/1447276094/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1823TC1Z1NEKQ&keywords=somewhere+beyond+the+sea+miranda&qid=1669983937&sprefix=somewhere+beyond+t%2Caps%2C194&sr=8-1

I can’t believe I miss these great books when they are first out, I had previously read “Breakfast at Darcy’s” by Ali and enjoyed it very much, but her newer book ” Hope and Happiness in Bluebell wood” is simply beautiful. I don’t want to give too much away, but if you like romance, nature and a little bit of magic, you will probably like this 🙂 this is the link https://amzn.to/3Gkjwmu

Victoria Walters creates a wonderful sense of place and character in the first in the series of her books set in Glendale, called “Coming home to Glendale Hall”. Here we meet the main characters of Beth, her daughter Izzy, Beth’s family and her old boyfriend, Drew. The occasion of Beth’s return is a sad one as her grandmother is ill but there is a silver lining as she is reunited with Drew, her childhood sweetheart. As her family comes together again, so too does the community and Beth realises that Glendale is somewhere she wants to stay. Romance, family, healing and a touch of the Christmas spirit, a great book to snuggle down with on a cold winters or autumn day!

This year I found the Glendale Hall series by Victoria Walters. I bought the books one after the other as I was so keen to find out what happened next. I’ll be popping a review of each one on here in the coming weeks, so you can see what you think of them. Do you have a series of books that you have found really good?

I’ve just finished reading Snowflakes at Mistletoe Cottage by Katie Ginger. It is a really lovely book, with characters you can really get to know. Esme is the main character, trying to make her way in the world after losing her job and her boyfriend in one day. She moves back to her hometown and is helped to rent a cottage by a handsome estate agent.. She is a food technologist and starts a cookery blog. She has struggles but her friends and family support her and she is a great example of never giving up on your dream! There is some swearing but the story is so good, you can gloss over that.
It is funny, heart warming and original, I recommend giving it a go!
